Meeting from the HiggsTools ITN
On Tuesday, May 16th, at 19:30 there will be a public lecture by Prof. A. Lerda, chair of the (national) theory group of INFN. The event will take place in Turet, a modern venue in the centre of the city, and a typical italian apericena will be served. The title and abstract of the talk are:
What next? A brief review of open problems in theoretical high energy physics.
The discovery of the Higgs boson at LHC and the detection of gravitational waves at LIGO are two important confirmations, respectively, of the Standard Model of elementary particles and of the theory of General Relativity. Despite these remarkable successes, several key fundamental questions still await an answer. In this talk I will briefly review some of the most significant open problems in high energy physics and the challenges they rise for theoretical physicists.
